THROUGH OUR EYES…
7 months of living in Bali and we have yet to pass the initial “dating phase.”
The charm is impossible to resist while the “red flags” are also hard to ignore.
* We will miss the incredibly beautiful nature, leaving us speechless on a daily basis.
* We won’t miss the unsafe roads and sidewalks.
* We will miss the super cute animals and their unique sounds.
* We won’t miss the mosquitoes and sand fleas.
* We will miss the variety and beauty of the local artistry.
* We won’t miss the lack of “common sense” building/construction methods.
* We will miss riding our scooter through the countryside.
* We won’t miss vehicle exhaust pollution and inhaling smoke from burning trash
* We will miss the beautiful velvet-like blanketing of moss.
* We won’t miss the humidity and frequent mold mitigation
* We will miss the incredible smiles of the Balinese people.
* We won’t miss the subservient idiosyncrasies that go beyond ‘logical thought’, justified to respect tradition.
* We will miss our favorite restaurants (Pica and Milk & Madu)
* We won’t miss the frequent Bali bellies from un-vetted food sources.
All that said, we can’t wait to be back!
